Can Radiesse define the jawline?

Yes, when the jawline has softened because the face has lost structure rather than because the skin has loosened. Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) biostimulator: placed along the mandible and at the chin, its microspheres restore the line immediately, then stimulate your own collagen as they integrate, so the contour holds for up to 24 months. If the blur comes mainly from lax skin, tightening is the better first step, and Marie tells the two apart at consultation.

Structure versus skin

A jawline reads sharp when there is enough support along the bone to cast a clean shadow between face and neck. Two different changes erase that shadow. One is volume loss: the soft tissue over the mandible and chin thins with age, the angle flattens, and the jaw stops separating the face from the neck. The other is laxity: skin that has lost recoil drapes over a structure that is still there.

Radiesse treats the first. It adds architecture where the bone has lost its cover, and because the material is a scaffold rather than a soft gel, it holds a defined edge. For the second, radiofrequency tightening does the work, and many jawlines need both: structure along the bone and skin firmed over it, sequenced by Marie within one plan.

Why the chin is part of the jawline

Marie maps every contouring treatment to bone structure, and for the jawline that map runs from the angle of the jaw forward to the chin. A recessed or short chin breaks the line before it reaches the front of the face, so precise placement at the chin often completes a jawline result more than more product along the side would. Structure goes where your anatomy calls for it, never where a template says it should.

The dual action is what separates this from simple volume. CaHA microspheres lift the moment they are placed, and over the following months your collagen builds around them, so the later stages of the result are tissue you grew yourself. That is also why the contour lasts up to 24 months, far longer than conventional enhancement.

The appointment and the trade-off

Plan for 45 to 60 minutes in the studio, beginning with the bone-structure assessment, and expect 1 to 2 days of downtime as any swelling settles. The honest trade-off is reversibility: unlike a hyaluronic acid filler, Radiesse cannot be dissolved on demand, which is exactly why the mapping matters and why Marie places conservatively along a line she can see rather than guess.

Common questions

Will Radiesse tighten loose skin along my jaw?

Not directly. Radiesse restores structure beneath the skin; it does not remodel lax skin the way radiofrequency does. When both structure and laxity are involved, Marie sequences contouring with XERF Lifting.

How soon will I see the jawline change?

Immediately. The lift is visible as soon as the microspheres are placed, and it refines over the following weeks as swelling settles and your own collagen begins to build around the scaffold.

Can I decide how much I want before the consultation?

Bring the goal, not the amount. Placement and quantity follow your bone structure, existing support, and any prior treatment, which Marie assesses in person rather than from a photograph or a package.
